The decomposed body of 58-year-old Rajendra Persaud was discovered at Brighton Village Corentyne Berbice early this morning.
Persaud was said to be an employee at Sterling Products Limited as a shift operator. Chief Financial Officer of the company, Deodat Indar, disclosed to the media that Persaud should have reported to work on November 11, 2017, but he never did and had not been seen or heard from since.
According to information reaching this publication, the discovery was made by a cattle farmer, who was alerted by an obnoxious stench emanating from a clump of bushes. Upon investigating, the cattle farmer stumbled upon the badly decomposed body of Persaud.
Persons in the area were alerted and the Police were called in. Persaud was identified from a bank card he was carrying. Persaud’s relatives in Berbice, told this publication that they were not aware that Persaud was visiting the county during the time he went missing.
Investigations are continuing
