A peacemaker was killed Wednesday afternoon in North Ruimveldt, Georgetown shortly after he attempted to break up a fight between two brothers. Dead is 37, year-old, Hafeez Douglas. Residents said the man was stabbed several times and died on the spot. The incident occurred in front of this shop in the community.His assailant was taken into custody.
The incident angered residents who spoke highly of the Douglas. An eyewitness told this newscast that after the victim intervened in the altercation, the suspect whipped out a weapon and stabbed Douglas.
Residents expressed their anger at the suspect when he was about to leave the North Ruimveldt outpost escorted by Police.
Douglas’ relatives were emotional when his body was removed from the scene. His mother, Alter Douglas then spoke with this newscast.
The Police are continuing their probe into the matter.
