Abigail Archibald says she plans to be more protective of her other children now that she is faced with the dreadful demise of her 13-year-old son, Leonard Archibald.
Holding back tears she said this brutal experience has now caused her to implore to her other children to be more careful among males.
She said from the time her son went missing, it was a struggle for her to sleep at night and to eat a solid meal.
Meanwhile, the government continues to lend support to family members of the murdered 13-year-old boy and further reassurance was given by Junior Natural Resources Minister, Simona Broomes. Broomes who represented Social Protection Minister Amna Ally visited the family.
It was the Social protection Ministry that stood the lad’s funeral expenses and currently, two of her children are benefiting from a programme run by the Social Protection Ministry.
On Wednesday, 29 yr. old Hillary Edwards and 19 yr. old Omardai Christopher were charged with murder when they appeared before Magistrate Alex Moore In the New Amsterdam Magistrates’ Court and were remanded to prison until December 8th.
The lad’s partly decomposed remains were discovered last Saturday, 6 days after he went missing. The Post Mortem examination done on Monday was inconclusive due to the badly decomposed state of the body.
The police cracked the case after they arrested two villagers who later confessed to sodomizing the lad, then dumping his body in the Berbice River.
