Gomattie Ramsingh, 34 died at the Georgetown Public Hospital on Sunday, two days after she was admitted to the institution for injuries she sustained. She related to relatives in a shocking video in the hospital, how her lover beat her with a piece of iron and accused her of “giving blow” with a black man. The woman said she was dragged in the yard as well by her reputed husband. She said during the beating, the man was demanding money to buy “smoke dope”.
The suspect, 27-year-old Adesh Mullu, is now on the run as the investigation commenced into the incident. Her family says they want justice and the man to be placed behind bars.
