Trini National Jailed for 2 years for overstaying in Guyana

Daniel Ali was before the court on charges of overstaying his time in Guyana and forging two legal documents. He told Chief Magistrate  Ann McLennan he is sorry for his actions, but he was still sentenced to two years with a fine of $30,000.
The sentence was handed down by Chief  Magistrate Ann McLennan in the Georgetown Magistrates’ court this morning.
It is alleged that  Ali conspired with persons, to forge one Guyana Driver’s license in the name of one Selall Madia, knowing that it was false.  That incident took place on January 3rd and May 19th. The 2nd charge was allegedly committed on the 23rd of March, this time at the  Central Immigration and Passport Office when he made a false statement and signed a declaration saying he was Selall Madia knowing it was false.
The third charge stated that on June 23rd, 2014  and May 20, 2017, he failed to comply with the regulations and overstayed his time in Guyana.
