Police make breakthrough in recent piracy attack

Police in Berbice have made a breakthrough in the recent Piracy attack which left a boat captain dead.
Commander of B Division, Eon Amsterdam told reporters that the stolen boat engine was found at a warehouse at Albion in Corentyne, Berbice. This was after the police arrested a fisherman who revealed the shocking details to the police.
Amsterdam said the police are looking for two other fishermen he believes can help with their investigations.
Mahadeo Ramdial, the boat captain died hours after he and his crew members were attacked by pirates in the Corentyne River.
Permanand Nandan and Arjune Permaul managed to survive the attack. The survivors recalled a small fishing boat slamming into their boat and shortly after they saw two men armed with cutlasses in their boat. The men were beaten and told to jump overboard while the Pirates took away their catch and 40 horse power Yamaha engine. Ramdial’s body washed up at the Rose Hall Foreshore days later.
