Sophia residents are this morning calling on Police to do everything they can to apprehend the killers of a bread vendor in the community.
The man, 42-years-old Andre Alexander was shot last night at approximately 20:30 hrs by bandits in the guise of customers.
The Police in a release this morning said based on initial investigations, Alexander was in the process of making change for $5,000 paid to him by one of two suspects for three loaves of bread. Soon after the pillion rider wiped out a gun and demanded cash from the deceased who refused, he was shot in the region of his stomach and relieved of his earnings. The suspects them made good their escape.
Alexander was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital but succumbed to his injuries about 23:00.
His mother Loretta Alexander, a retired Matron at the GPHC said she is trying to come to grips with her son’s senseless killing, given that for the past seven years he has he has been providing service to the community.
