A young police special constable, Aaron Rodrigues is under probe following a fatal accident Saturday on the Mocha Access Road East Bank Demerara.
That accident has left 49-year old Euclin Joseph dead and others injured.
The 21-year old man of Freeman Street East La Penitence Georgetown is attached to the escort section of that unit.
In a statement on the accident from the Guyana Police Force, it was revealed that motorcar #PSS 7652 driven by Rodrigues was proceeding west along the southern side of the said road at a fast rate of speed when the driver lost control of the said vehicle and ended up on the southern parapet where the right side of the vehicle collided with a GPL light pole.
As a result of the collision, several occupants, Raymond Joseph age 39 years of lot 270 West Ruimveldt Georgetown, Samantha Andrews age 32 years of lot 69 Ogle Street Triumph East Coast Demerara, Lashana Young age 32 years of lot 1748 Providence East Bank Demerara, Euclin Joseph age 49 years of lot 270 west Ruimveldt (Deceased) sustained injuries about their bodies.
Some were taken out of the vehicle by the Police and public-spirited citizens in a conscious condition while the others were in an unconscious condition. They were all rushed to the Diamond Diagnostic Centre where they were seen and examined by a doctor on duty. Euclin Joseph was pronounced dead on arrival, whilst the rest of the occupants are receiving medical attention. A breathalyzer test was conducted on the driver and no trace of alcohol was found in his breath. He is in custody assisting with the investigations.
