The Police are reporting that five suspects carried out the robbery after breaking into the DHL’s building in Alberttown, Georgetown around 03:23hrs today.
According to the police their investigations revealed that on the date and time mentioned above two unarmed security guards were on duty. One of the security guards alleges he was in front of the compound when he was confronted by a masked suspect who commanded “don’t say anything”.
The security said, he was then placed to lie on his stomach and the suspect proceeded to duct tape him.
The suspect was subsequently accompanied by four others who gained access to the compound from the back fence located north of the building.
The second security guard claimed he did not hear or see anything since it was raining heavy.
The suspects allegedly carted off two safes and three canisters containing an undisclosed amount of cash.
Investigations are ongoing.
