Residents of Linden are protesting a decision by the administration of the Linden Hospital to lock out the unvaccinated doctors and nurses. The situation met its boiling point and the residents decided that enough was enough and opted to block the Mackenzie-Wismar Bridge.
The Police were quickly called to the scene but residents were defiant and stood their ground. Some sections of society are objecting to the mandatory vaccination imposed by the government.
In Linden residents said prior to the vaccine it was the nurses and doctors who were on the frontline in the fight against the deadly virus and many still are and should be given a choice whether to take the vaccine or not.
Via telephone, Region 10, Regional Chairman Deron Adams government’s decision to prevent health professionals who are unvaccinated from performing their duties will have an impact on the community.
According to Adams, Government needs to conduct a robust campaign. He said he nor the RDC which he chairs is against vaccination but the people must be given the information they are requested to satisfy themselves.
