A Brazilian national was shot dead execution style last night on Regent Street, between Camp and Wellington streets when gunmen opened fire on the vehicle he was traveling in at the time. The dead man was identified as Euclid Da Silva. He died on the spot. The driver of the car was also injured in the shooting and he was rushed to the Georgetown Hospital to seek medical attention for the gunshot injuries he sustained. There are reports that Da Silva was living in Guyana for some time and he had a few brushes with the law over allegations of fraud. Da Silva operated a business on Hadfield street. The motive for the shooting is unclear at this time. Details surrounding the shooting are still emerging.
