COVID-19 vaccinated cards to be shown when going to betting shops, casinos, cinemas and gov’t agencies

Patrons seeking to enter restaurants, Casinos, betting shops and cinemas will now be required to show proof of vaccination according to the latest emergency COVID- 19 measures.

According to the gazetted order a casino, betting shop or cinema may operate only at 40% capacity of the building or seating area.

The operator of the casino, betting shop or cinema shall ensure that only vaccinated patrons are at their place of business and those patrons must have in their possession an official identification document and their vaccination card which they shall produce when requested to do so by the operator or any person authorized by the Ministry of Health.

Further they much ensure that every person at their place of business is wearing a facemask fitted to cover the person’s nose, mouth and chin.

For restaurants with the exception of children, everyone else should show their vaccination card and official identification document.

Failing to comply the measures could see the operator of the casino, betting shop or cinema being liable to a summary conviction to the penalty provided under section 125 of the Public Health Ordinance.

Meanwhile, the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution today issued a notice advising members of the public that for those wishing to visit the office at Eve Leary must present their COVID-19 vaccinated card to the security.

Further an unvaccinated person may only access the service by appointment made via the telephone. T the notice is in keeping with the updated COVID-19 measures which says that a member of the public who wishes to enter a Ministry or Government Agency to access a service shall be vaccinated.

Where a member of the public is unvaccinated, that person may only access the service in person by appointment.
