One of the brothers of the murdered Henry cousins Joel and Isiah is among four charged with the murder of Haresh Singh the West Coast Berbice teenager killed September last year.
The Police in a press statement said four persons were arrested by ranks attached to the Major Crimes Unit of the Guyana Police Force and charged today (June 29th, 2021)
A charge of Murder: “Contrary to Common Law” was instituted against the four in relation to the death of Haresh Singh on September 9, 2020 at Number 3 Village, West Coast Berbice.
Those charged are: Philip Anderson called ‘Ratman, age 29 years of Lot 25 # 3 Village, West Coast Berbice, Joel Gittins called ‘Bolo’, age 27 years of Jangotown, East Coast Demerara, Gladston Henry called Gladwin Henry, aka ‘Soldierman’, age 27 years of # 3 Village, West Coast Berbice and Charles Scott called ‘Bucko’, age 21 years of lot 29 Jarvis Street Rosignol, Berbice.
The men appeared before Magistrate Peter Hugh at Fort Wellington Magistrates’ Court virtually this afternoon. They were not required to plead as the offence is indictable as such they were remanded to prison. The case has been postponed to 12th July, 2021 and transferred to Blairmont Magistrate Court for report.
