A 54-year-old male is now in custody following the discovery of a Firearm and Ammunition at Crabwood Creek, Corentyne Berbice on Monday.
The police acting on information dispatched ranks from the division to conduct a search at the home of the suspect. According to the police, during the search of the lower flat of the building the ranks found a black tyre tube between several pieces of clothing which, when opened, contained three components of a 12 gauge shotgun. Further searches were made and a plastic bag containing six(6) shotgun cartridges were found.
The suspect was told of the offences committed, cautioned and arrested. The firearm and ammunition were marked, sealed and lodged at the Springlands Police Station.
