The accident involved Motorcar PRR 2014 driven by Anthony Ralph aged 33yrs of Buxton East Coast Demerara and occupants Alejandra Brazon (deceased) Venezuelan National, aged 20yrs, Kataleena female Venezuelan National age unknown, Alexandra female Venezuelan National age unknown all of Stewartville West Coast Demerara and Urelis Gonsalves female Venezuelan National age 22yrs of Pouderyon West Bank Demerara.
The Police are reporting that their enquiries disclosed that motorcar PRR 2014 was proceeding east along the northern side of the said road at a fast of speed when the driver overtook motorcar #PRR 7512 which was proceeding in the said direction along the northern side.
After the overtaking maneuver, while returning onto the northern carriageway, the driver lost control and struck a GPL post on the northern parapet then ended up in a trench on the said northern side. As a result of the collision the driver and occupants received injuries. They were all picked up in an unconscious state and taken to Leonora Cottage Hospital where they were seen and examined by a doctor on duty.
Alejandra Brazon was pronounced dead on arrival while the others were later referred to West Demerara Regional Hospital and admitted as patients in a stable condition. Urelis Gonsavles was picked up in an unconscious state by Leonora Fire Service EMT and taken to West Demerara Regional Hospital where she was seen, examined, and admitted a patient in a stable condition. The body of the deceased was escorted to Ezekiel Funeral Parlour awaiting a PME. Investigations ongoing.
