The duo Troy Waldron and Yan Licorish appeared in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan where they were not required to plea to the indictable charge.
The duo was remanded to prison until April 19th. This was following the death of 58-year-old Mohabir Singh of no fixed place of abode. The Police are reporting that Singh’s body was found on Tuesday, March 16, 2021, under a shed on the Kaieteur News premises at Saffon Street, La Penitence by a staffer of the said entity.
A post mortem performed by Dr. Nehaul Singh gave the cause of death as brain hemorrhage due to blunt trauma to the head. Attorney at Law Latchmie Rahamat represented the duo who were charged with the murder of Singh.
