The Alliance For Change (AFC) today said it is ready to engage the Speaker of the National Assembly, Manzoor Nadir to restore sanctity to the Chambers of the National assembly during sittings.
The AFC says it is dismayed, distressed and disappointed in the unholy turn of events and disintegration of law, order and parliamentary norms as witnessed during the recent 2021 Budget debates and consideration of the Financial Estimates.
The party in its statement, criticized the speaker for his handling of the assault of one of its members of parliament. According to the AFC, the Speaker treated the matter very lightly, failed and refused to ensure that there was an impartial investigation, in the interim, to ensure that the accused perpetrator was withdrawn from the House pending the outcome of the investigation.
