I will not meet with the leader of the opposition until he recognizes me as President and my government, says President Irfaan Ali.
Opposition leader Joseph Harmon said he is ready to engage the government on the incursion by Venezuela, however, President Ali is refusing to agree to a meeting until the Opposition Leader recognizes him as President and his government’s legitimacy. Ali made the comment on the sidelines of the Annual Police Officers Conference at the National Cultural Centre.
According to Ali, he is ready to speak with anyone which is what he has been doing. However, as as Harmon and President are standing their ground, Venezuela continues to openly challenge Guyana’s sovereignty.
