The Preliminary Inquiry into the matter was heard before Magistrate Judy Latchman. The magistrate ruled that there was enough evidence to have Erwin Bacchus committed to stand trial in the High Court where his fate will be determined by a jury of his peers.
Bacchus is represented by attorney at Nigel Hughes while the state was represented by special prosecutor Dexter Todd.
The 46-year-old Bacchus is accused of fatally shooting De Florimonte three times during an early morning confrontation. There are reports that the shooting stemmed from a commotion between Jason and his girlfriend and Bacchus allegedly came to her aid and shot Jason who he claimed attacked him.
Bacchus on hearing the commotion went to the aid of his handyman but it all ended with Bacchus firing three shots at De Florimonte.
