A 25-year-old miner will spend the next three years in jail after he confessed to having 25 grams of cannabis in his possession for the purpose of trafficking.
The sentence was handed down by Magistrate Judy Latchman at the Georgetown Magistrates’ court today.
Ravidave Mohan was found with the prohibited substance in his possession on May, 1st at 4 Mile, Port Kaituma. Police Prosecutor Arwin Moore told the court that the defendant was busted by the Police while riding an ATV with the prohibited substance in his possession. Magistrate Latchman after accepting Mohan’s guilty plea sentenced him to 3 years in prison with a fine of $30,000.
