Police investigators are probing the robbery/murder of overseas based Guyanese Purcell Moore which occurred this morning at Craig Old road on the East Bank of Demerara.
Moore was shot to the right side of his chest during the deadly ordeal. The man died on arrival and the Diamond Hospital.
The dead man’s father Purcell Moore senior said the incident occurred just around 6:45 this morning, a stone’s throw away from the mother of his 9-day-old child. Moore senior said his son would normally wear lots of jewellery and he believes that the bandits stole his son’s jewellery.
The 45-year-old man and father of two a few days ago returned to Guyana from his home in French Guiana and would normally visit from time to time. The father said the death of his son has dampened their Christmas spirit.
Crime Chief Paul Williams said the police are looking for two suspects.

The police investigators have retrieved two spent shells from a small caliber weapon from the scene.
