The police are probing the accidental death of a two-month-old infant, Destiny Holder, which occurred at her parents 149, D’Andrade Street, Newtown home on Saturday morning.
Tinisha George, mother of the infant said she and the baby retired to bed Friday night and she recalled breastfeeding the infant at the time, but she fell asleep and apparently, her breast came out of the infant’s mouth and the breast milk may have gotten into the child’s nostril.
The 18-year-old mother of two said the baby was prematurely born a week shy of 7 months.
The child’s grandmother and great aunt said little Destiny’s death is very painful.
A post mortem examination is expected to be done on Wednesday. George said the police told her that the examination would determine their next course of action.
